I am a Survivor
As I look around I see a dark big hole, which I have fallen into. I keep looking around to see if there is any familiar person, in the hole with me; but it’s only me and me alone. I start looking for a way to escape from this hole, but I can’t find any. Anxiety and confusion take over as I find myself wondering how I am going to come out of this dark hole. Tears fill my eyes, I feel resentment, anger, and disappointment. Where is everyone? Why am I alone in here? I start asking myself these questions, but I just cannot get any answer.
I turn my head to look around in complete despair and I see a ladder. Can I use it to come out? Oh well, maybe not, what if I slip and fall back inside while trying to come out? Doubt and fear get the better of me. I sit down and remember who I am, a fighter, a mother, a sister, a spouse and a daughter of the Most High. Slowly, I start climbing the ladder with my heart beating so fast. I keep telling myself to soldier on until I come out. I make it to the top and push myself out, like a real champion that I am. There’s no looking back, I will walk like a soldier until I reach a safe place and be happy again.
