Big news from Angels of Hope
Our team has officially completed their Sports First Aid training delivered by Stephen from St John's Ambulance Training Centre as we kick off our brand-new project Athletic Angels, proudly supported by Sport England.
This training means we can keep our women and girls safe, confident, and fully supported as they get active, try new things, and step into their power through sport.
Here’s to a strong start and an even stronger future for our Athletic Angels

Creating Safe Spaces: Ruth Mbera Delivers Key Talk on Domestic Abuse
Ruth Mbera is known for her many contributions to the communities of Greater Manchester. This time, she attended our Coffee Morning session to deliver an important session on Domestic Violence as part of our Safe Spaces program, which is sponsored by the Greater Manchester Police ARIS Fund.
Ruth outlined the various forms of abuse that can occur within households, including sexual, physical, financial, emotional, and technology-facilitated abuse such as stalking on social media. The session was highly interactive, with women sharing their experiences and highlighting how domestic violence affects not only the survivor but also those around them, especially children.
The key takeaway was that support is available for anyone experiencing abuse. Equally important was the reminder that we must look out for one another—particularly our sisters—by recognising the signs of struggle and offering support where we can.

Staff Training Day for Future Planning
Staff training day is essential for strengthening the quality, consistency, and long-term direction of our organisation. It allows the whole team to step away from day-to-day service delivery and focus on strategic planning, skill development, and improving how we support the people who rely on us. By investing this time, we ensure staff are aligned with our goals, understand upcoming priorities, and are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective support.
Training days also boost staff wellbeing and retention. For a community-based service like ours, this directly translates into better outcomes for the families and women we work with.
Planning together as a team helps us identify emerging needs, strengthen safeguarding practices, and innovate our programmes so we remain responsive and sustainable. Ultimately, a staff training day is not a pause in productivity—it is a vital investment in our future impact.
